The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear… unless it’s one of the same ten songs I’ve listened to every Christmas for as long as I can remember. Each Christmas, I find myself increasingly torn by my desire to have Christmas spirit and my growing distaste for repetitive holiday songs. Yes, I’m sure it is fun to ride in a one horse open sleigh, but does every pop artist need to sing about it in unimaginative covers?
This Christmas, I decided to combat the worn repetitious tunes we all know and love by creating an alternative playlist. It includes underappreciated classics like the Vince Guaraldi Trio, new catchy jams like “No Christmas for Me” and even some Blink-182 to keep things diverse. Basically, it’s anything but “Jingle Bells.”
