As another semester draws to a close, I can’t help but think about how much there is to be thankful for here at The Bundle Magazine.

This semester, we welcomed 15 talented staff members to our publication. Everyone brought something different to the table and it was incredible to see people from all walks of life come together to plan events, raise money for our nonprofit partner Inite:Unity and of course create quality content every week.

One of the things that makes The Bundle so unique is our voice. When our writers share their stories, they share their hearts. What makes our storytelling so compelling is the creative vulnerability that the writers bring to their work. I enjoy seeing how passionate our writers are when explaining story ideas, then seeing that passion translate on screen when their stories are published.

Throughout my time on staff at The Bundle, I have seen so many talented people come through our doors, but this semester, our staff took The Bundle to a whole new level.

Some of the highlights of our semester were the coffee hour events we hosted. Our first coffee hour was with former Congressman Chet Edwards who encouraged us to speak up, even when we’re afraid to. Our second coffee hour that we hosted was with authors Cynthia Leonor Garza and Christine Granados where we learned about the many opportunities that the world of journalism has to offer. We host these events to build community within the department of journalism and Baylor collectively. It is so great to see how The Bundle provides a place for students to engage with such outstanding professionals.

We ended our semester with our party, The Final Edit, where we enjoyed food prepared by Dr. Brad Owens and Prof. Maxey Parrish. To Dr. Owens, Prof. Parrish, Dr. Sara Stone, Mrs. Margaret Kramer and Mrs. Lanisa Tovar, thank you again for all of your help in making this event possible.

We would also like to thank Craig Cunningham and the Baylor Line Foundation for their continued generosity toward The Bundle.

We also can’t forget to thank the Baylor University department of journalism, public relations and new media for all of the love and support you give to our publication.

Thank you to our phenomenal adviser, Prof. Macarena Hernández who pushes us everyday to be the best we can be. Thank you for loving The Bundle so well and giving of your time, talent and treasure to make sure that this publication is successful and a memorable experience where we grow and learn.

Finally, I would like to thank you, readers, supporters and friends of The Bundle. Thank you for going on this journey with us. One of my favorite things about The Bundle is how we’re not afraid to try new things and readers, thank you for walking along side us. Thank you for engaging with us and encouraging us to keep writing.

We’ve had a great semester and I am looking forward to what lies ahead for The Bundle!

I hope that you and yours have a very merry Christmas and a prosperous and happy New Year.

See you in January,

Pablo Gonzales
