It takes Ling Ni two weeks to make an entire outfit from scratch. As a senior apparel design major at Baylor University, the process has become second nature to Ni. It’s intricuit and not as glamorous as the finished product, but Ni shared an inside look at this process while creating a jacket from conception to finish. Ni uses pencils to sketch her vision and alcohol-based markers to breathe color into it. Ni plans to showcase six full outfits April 14, 2018, at the spring show.

Each spring, the department of Apparel Design and Product Development holds a fashion show. The event showcases outfits and pieces from program undergraduates of all academic levels, but the annual stars of the show are the seniors. Each apparel design senior creates their own Senior Collection of four to seven full outfits — within three months.

To purchase tickets, learn more about the fashion show, or see more samples of other Senior Collections, follow @BaylorFashion on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
