Waco is full of food, coffee and places to enjoy your time, but did you know it’s also full of music? Central Texas is a concert hot spot, and Waco is expecting some incredible artists this semester.

Here are some musicians making their way to the Heart of Texas in the near future:

Steven Curtis Chapman

If you’ve ever listened to a Christian radio station, you’ve definitely heard a Steven Curtis Chapman song. Though his music is at times overplayed, his career has been a long and successful one. Chapman is the recipient of five Grammy Awards and many of his songs are sung in churches across the nation every Sunday. He will be playing at the Waco Hippodrome on March 27th.

Mason Ramsey

That’s right friends- Mason Ramsey will grace Waco Hall with his presence! Dubbed the “Walmart Yodeling Boy” by fans, Mason Ramsey became the internet’s favorite meme when he went viral for singing “Lovesick Blues” in a Harrisburg, Illinois, Walmart. His dreams came true, and his tour is making its way to Baylor University on March 28th.

for King & Country

This Christian music band is one of the best in its genre, having had four Grammy Award nominations, including two wins and a pending nomination for their new hit single, “Joy.” You can find tickets for their April 13th show in Belton, Texas, here.

Cody Johnson Band

Cody Johnson stole the hearts of country music fans with his single “With You I Am.” He independently released six albums and is making his way to Waco on May 5th to charm fans with his Texas drawl.

In addition to these shows, Common Grounds also serves as one of the top rated concert venues in Waco. Their backyard has hosted some of my favorite artists like Ben Rector, Colony House and Birdtalker.
